DHAKA: US congressman Peter King has underscored his country’s pledge to fight terrorism and militancy across the world.

“The USA would always remain firm on its stand, however, countries like Bangladesh should also come forward to work together in facing such terrorism and militancy,” he said.

Peter King came up with the assertion in a meeting with Sayem Sobhan, Managing Director of Bashundhara Group and East West Media Group and Naem Nizam, Editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, at his office in Long Island, New York.

Issues in connection with US-Bangladesh relationship came up in the discussion while Sayem Sobhan mentioned that all the news outlets under East West Media Group always take a stance against terrorism and militancy.

Peter Thomas King is the US Representative for New York's 2nd congressional district. He is a member of the Republican Party and represents the central Long Island district.

Peter King, widely known as Pete King is also a potential Republican candidate for 2016 Presidential Elections.
