DHAKA: Shamim Ahmed Chawdhury has been appointed as new president and managing director (acting) of AB (Arab Bangladesh) Bank.

He took charge as president and managing director (acting) of the bank on January 1.

Prior to his present position Shamim Ahmed was working as additional managing director in AB Bank.  

Shamim Ahmed, a masters of business administration (major in finance), started his banking career as a management trainee with American Express Bank in 1980.

Shamim Ahmed showed his mastery in AB Bank Operations, Information Technology, Treasury Bank Office, Credit Administration and Monitoring, Central Compliance Unit and Corporate and Structural Finance department during last five years.
