DHAKA : Counting of votes for Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) polls is underway as balloting ended Sunday afternoon.

Voting started at 9am and continued till 4pm at Dhaka Officers` Club and Narayanganj Club.

Secretary of BKMEA Shulov Chowdhury told banglanews24.com.bd that of 512 voters, 472 cast their votes to elect 27 directors of the trade body. Some 44 candidates are contesting from of two panels.

The elected directors, later select one president and four vice-presidents, he added.
