DHAKA: Chevron Bangladesh and a local NGO signed an agreement for a livelihood program to support 1200 underprivileged men and women of Sylhet Sadar Upazila.  

The Alternative Livelihood Program is a skill development and income-generating project for communities of Bibiyana and Moulavi Bazar Gas Fields.

Executive Director of FIVDB Zehin Ahmed, Chevron Bangladesh’s Director, Legal, Joseph A Tomkiewicz and Director of External Affairs Naser Ahmed were present.

Chairman of FIVDB Zehin Ahmed expressed satisfaction for Chevron’s support.

Chevron Bangladesh’s Alternative Livelihood Program (ALP) is a combination of skilled training and business input support. The ALP plans to help 4700 families work toward earning alternative sources of income through training programs and successful startups. From 2006 till present, Chevron has granted around Taka 1.97 crore to fund the program.
