Stocks witness fall Wednesday

DHAKA: Investors witnessed minor fall in benchmark indices of the country’s bourses on Wednesday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 43 points only to stand at 3,946 at the close on the forth trading day of the week.

Trade deals stood at 1,09,799 with volume of transactions at Tk 3,843 million.

Of the issues traded, 124 advanced, 125 declined and 31 remained unchanged.

GENNEXT topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 247 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, ARGONDENIM, UCBL, SPPCL, MALEKSPIN, ENVOYTEX, UNITEDAIR, BEXIMCO and TAKAFULINS.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 7,740 by dropping over 87 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 81 gained, 107 declined and 17 remained unchanged.
