RAJSHAHI: In a latest development to the killing of Professor AKM Shafiul Islam of Sociology Department at Rajshahi University, students began demonstration on the campus since Saturday evening.

Over half-a-hundred students of the department took position on Dhaka-Rajshahi highway in front of the university’s main entrance around 6:15pm protesting the killing of their teachers.

They demanded immediate detention and exemplary punishment to the killers, chanting slogans.

Vehicle movement came to halt due to the protest. Long traffic jam has been appeared on the both side of the highway.

Miscreants chopped Shafiul Islam to death in front of his residence in Chaddapai area, adjacent to the university, on Saturday afternoon.
