DHAKA UNIVERSITY (DU): Pro-Awami League teachers’ platform known as Blue Panel won the all 15 posts in Dhaka University Teacher Association (DUTA) election on Wednesday.

Teacher and also DUTA election commissioner Shafique uz Jaman declared the election results in the afternoon.

Former president of the association and also senate and syndicate member Professor Dr Farid Uddin Ahmed has been elected as president of DUTA.

He defeated ‘White Panel’ candidate Professor M Akhter Hossain of Department of Soil, Water and Environment.

Former general secretary Professor Dr ASM Maksud Kamal elected as the association’s general secretary.

Department of Management Information Systems Professor Dr M Hasibur Rashid elected as vice-president and Business Administration Faculty Dean Professor Dr Shibli Rubaitul Islam elected as treasurer.

Moreover, DU senate member Dr M Aftab Ali Sheikh elected as general secretary of executive council.

Some 1,365 members of the association cast their vote in the election.
