Today is the 82nd birth anniversary of country’s legendary film star Nayak Raj Razzak. 

To mark the day, the actor’s family has arranged various programmes, including doa mahfil.

Different television channels will also air an array of programmes today.

Born on 23 January 1942 at Nagtola in Taliganj of Kolkata, the popular actor and director   Razzak started his film career by playing a small role in the film “13 Number Feku Ostagar Lane” in 1966. However, he played one of the main roles in Zaheer Raihan-directed movie “Behula” in the same year. Since then, he has acted as the main hero for several decades.

In his long-career, Nayok Raj has acted in many notable movies, including “Kogojer Nouka”   “Rongbaaz”, “Aamar Jonmobhumi”, “Swapno Diye Ghera”, “Slogan”, “Jhorer Pakhi”,  “Swarolipi”, “Alor Michhil”, “Beiman”, “ Abirbhab”, “Moner Moto Bou”, “Ora 11 Jon”, Jibon “Theke Neoa”, “Dorpo Churno”, “Je Agune Puri”, “Taka Aana Pai”, “Nacher Putul”, “Abujh Mon”, “Chuutir Ghonta”, “Anonto Prem”, “Aanar Koli”, “Rojoni Gondha”, “Boro Bhalo Lok Chilo”, “Tauba” and “Chapa Dangar Bou”.

Abdur Razzak, who was dubbed Nayak Raj Razzak (King of Heroes) by Chitrali magazine editor Ahmed Zaman Chowdhury, won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor five times.

He was also awarded the Independence Day Award in 2015.

The one of the greatest actors in Bangladeshi film industry passed away on 21 August 2017.
