Actor Alia Bhatt announced the title of her YRF spy universe saga with a teaser on Friday. Titled Alpha, the film stars Alia with Sharvari Wagh and is directed by Shiv Rawail, known for his Netflix series The Railway Men.

A surprise promo of the film was unveiled on Friday, which revealed the title of the film along with a voiceover of Alia Bhatt, who hypes up what ‘Alpha’ means. She can be heard saying, “The first letter of the Greek alphabet… and the motto of our program… The first. The fastest. The strongest. Every city is like a jungle. The one who will rule that jungle is… Alpha.” The promo ended with the title of the film with the Greek alphabet in the background.

Alia shared the promo online with the caption, “It’s the time of the ALPHA… Girls!” While the term is used to describe men, it is interesting subversion to see it as the title of a project headlined by two actresses.

Only recently, Alia Bhatt was seen in an American spy thriller Heart Of Stone, in which she played the antagonist role of a hacker named Keya Dhawan. With Alpha, the actress is returning to the genre again, but this time as the protagonist. On the other hand, the project is a significant milestone in the career of Sharvari was last seen in the films Munjya and Maharaj. Other details of the cast and crew of Alpha are yet to be unveiled.

Meanwhile, Alia will return to the big screens with the film Jigra, which is currently in the post-production phase.
