At least 19 dengue patients died while 3,033 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (September 25), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 801 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 2,232 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 928 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 1, 90,758 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 79,716 were in Dhaka and 1, 11,042 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 1,79,683 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 75,482 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,04,201 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 3,622 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 6,525 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
