At least 11 dengue patients died while 1,917 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (October 25), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 435 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,482 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,295 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,60, 829 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 96, 846 were in Dhaka and 1,63, 983 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,51, 935 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 93,896 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,58,039 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 2,162 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 5,437 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
