At least eleven more dengue patients died while 1,431 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (October 27), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 365 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,066 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,317 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,46,062 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 97,620 were in Dhaka and 1,66,442 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,55,947 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 94,893 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,61,054 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,929 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,869 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
