At least two more dengue patient died while 308 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 14), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 97 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 211 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,676 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,18,613 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,09,340 were in Dhaka and 2,09,273 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,15,114 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,07,836 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 2,07,278 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 537 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 1,286 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
