At least four more dengue patient died while 254 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (December 17), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 63 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 191 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,682 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,19,236 were infected by the Dengue virus this year.

As many as 3,15,991 Dengue patients recovered this year.

According to DGHS, 970 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
