DHAKA: Former deputy prime minister and senior BJP leader LK Advani said Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will become the next prime minister of India.
Senior BJP leader LK Advani on Saturday filed his nominations from the Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in Gujarat.
Advani was accompanied by BJP`s prime ministerial nominee Narendra Modi when he filed his papers.
Advani was confident about the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) winning the Lok Sabha polls and said the next government will formed under the party`s leadership.
‘Modi will become the PM of the country,’ Advani said while addressing the media in Gandhinagar, reports The Times of India.
Advani said he never intended not to contest from Gujarat.
He said the area that is now Gujarat had given him shelter after the country’s partition in 1947.
