DHAKA: India’s former union minister Jaswant Singh slipped into coma on Friday after sustaining severe head injuries and remained on life support system in a ‘highly critical state’.
Doctors attending on him at the Army Research and Referral (R&R) hospital in New Delhi said, The Times of India publishes this report on Saturday.
The 76-year-old leader fell down at his residence which led to heavy internal bleeding and formation of a clot.
‘Singh has been put on life support system. His condition is being monitored by a team of doctors, including experts from AIIMS. Nothing can be said about his chances of recovery as yet,’ said a senior doctor.
‘His family members brought him to the hospital after finding him lying on the floor of the house in an unconscious state. Examination showed him to be in coma, with signs of raised intracranial tension and a haematoma scalp,’ stated a statement issued by the defence ministry.
