India has reported 16,111 deaths from coronavirus till Sunday afternoon (Bangladesh Time), according to latest data from worldometer.

While 529,860 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus, 310,205 have recovered from the disease in the country till date, the source said.

So far, the number of active cases are 203,544.

Among the active cases, 8,944 patients are in critical condition, worldometer reported.

Maharashtra has reported highest number of infections with 1,59,133 cases till Sunday, according to data released by health ministry of India.

According to ministry of health, nearly 20,000 fresh infections were reported in the past 24 hours in the country.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus (Covid-19) death toll has reached 501,442 as 10,088,576 people have been infected worldwide till Sunday (June 28). 

The number of coronavirus case and death increased around ten times within just three months.

On April 3, more than a million cases of coronavirus were registered globally while nearly 53,000 people died, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University.

However, a total of 54,66,534 people have recovered worldwide from the disease as of Sunday (June 28), according to latest data from worldometer.

A total of 213 countries and territories and two international conveyances have been infected in the deadly disease.

The World Health Organization declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.
