A top Bangladeshi official has said his country will like to become part of the Indian government's Atmanirbhar (self-reliant) campaign amid a worldwide resistance over Chinese influence and its expansionism and a crisis triggered by the spread of coronavirus.
Bangladeshi High Commissioner to India Mohammad Imran attended India's Independence Day celebration on Saturday.
Speaking to news agency ANI, he said: " I attended the Independence Day celebrations at Red Fort, today morning. It was very encouraging listening to Prime Minister Modi."
"We look forward to having a much better relationship with India. We already have very good relations with India and it can be taken to a higher level," he said.
“Be it at the personal level or at the national level, everyone should be atmanirbhar. As India will be ‘Atmanirbhar’, we also want to be a part of it. I think that if we both work together, we both can complement each other,” Imran told the news agency.
