After 11 months battle the All India Trinamool Congress opened its Agartala provincial office on Monday (July 11) in the Chittaranjan Road area of the capital.
West Bengal Law Minister Malay Ghatak hoisted the party flag and cut the ribbon to inaugurate the provincial Trinamool Congress office.
The inaugural function was attended by West Bengal Youth Trinamool Congress leader Saini Ghosh, MP Sushmita Dev and former West Bengal minister in charge of Tripura Rajiv Banerjee, Tripura Trinamool Congress president Subal Bhowmik and others.
Malay Ghatak said it was too late to open a provincial office due to the ongoing terrorism in Tripura. Trinamool Congress from now will continue working from this office in the coming days.
For a long 11 months, the organization was run from the house of the current president of the Trinamool Congress, Subal Bhowmik, which was known as the camp office of the Trinamool Congress.
MP Sushmita Dev said the present government has not allowed the Trinamool Congress to open its provincial office for a long time. After much struggle and the efforts of All India General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the provincial office was inaugurated today.
Saini Ghosh said that this day is very important for the All India Trinamool Congress and Tripura Province Trinamool Congress. Because on this day the office has been started with the support of the people ignoring the fear.
