DHAKA: The first namaj-e-Janaza of Mizanur Rahman Khan Dipu, ruling Awami League lawmaker of Dhaka-6, was held at south plaza of national parliament on Saturday noon.
After the Janaza at around 12:00pm, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid floral wreaths to his body. Meanwhile, Prime Minister prayed for his departed soul.
Later, Jatiya Sangsad Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Choudhury and Deputy Speaker Shawkat Ali also paid tribute.
Awami League presidium member Obaidul Quader, Advisory council member Tofael Ahmed, Joint General Secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud and other leaders were present in the funeral.
His will be laid to rest at Jurain graveyard after third Janaza at around 03:00pm.
Earlier, the Awami League Lawmaker of Dhaka-6 constituency Mizanur Rahman Dipu breathed his last at Apollo Hospital due to brain hemorrhage.
