Obaidul orders long-route bus services resumption

DHAKA: Communications Minister Obaidul Quader ordered to resume all long-route bus services including BRTC-run ones in all routes across the country from Sunday.

He came up with the directives in a meting at BRTC’s Allenbari office at around 12:30pm Sunday.

In the meting, the minister told banglanews that to ensure safety of passenger and vehicles, a monitoring team comprising nine hundred members has been formed.     

Deputy Inspector General of Highway police M.Assaduzzaman was made the head of monitoring team, he added.

The others are joint commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Deputy Inspector General of Dhaka zone, BRTC director (mechanical), BRTA director (mechanical) Bangladesh raod transport Association vice-president Enayetullah, Bangladesh Bus-truck Owners Association vice-president Ramesh Chandra Ghos, Bangladesh Road Transport and Workers’ Federation General secretary Osman Ali, Captain Malek on behalf of Rapid Action Batalion.
