RANGPUR: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Awami League President was unofficially declared elected from Rangpur-2 constituency in the general election held on Sunday.

Sheikh Hasina bagged 143,630 votes while his rival candidate Nur Alam Jadu of Jatiya Party got 4969 votes in all 104 centers out of 106 centers.

However, vote counting in two centers were postponed.  

District returning officer, also deputy commissioner, Farid Ahmed announced Sheikh Hasina as elected from the constituency.
