BOGRA: A bus helper was killed and 25 others were injured in a road accident in Chhonka area under Sherpur upazila of the district on Monday.

The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam, 27, son of Azizur Rahman, resident of the upazila.

Witnesses said a Pabna bound passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch as the driver of the bus lost his control over the steering in the area at 12:00pm, leaving bus helper Ariful dead on the spot and 25 others injured critically.

However, the injured were rushed to Sherpur upazila health complex and Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Officer-in-Charge of Sherpur Thana Ali Ahmed Hashmi confirmed the matter to banglnews.
