DHAKA:  The International Crimes Tribunal-2 on Sunday framed charges against Syed Qaiser for his alleged involvement in crimes against humanity during the liberation war.
 
The Justice Obaidul Hasan-led three-member ICT has charged Qaiser, a former Jatiya Party state minister, on 16 grounds.  
 
The court also ordered state prosecutors to present the opening statement on March 4 ahead of the trial.  
 
The charges include mass killings, murders, extermination, enslavement, deportation, abduction and torture in confinement, rape and other alleged inhuman acts.
 
According to the prosecution, Qaisar who was a member of Habiganj sub-divisional Peace Committee, formed Qaisar Bahini to aid and abet the Pakistan occupation army in unleashing a reign of terror against those fighting for independence in 1971.
