KUSHTIA: A minor girl was killed in a road accident on Kushtia-Alamdanga road in Sadar upazila of the district on Sunday morning.

The deceased was identified as Akhi Khatun, 8, daughter of Akbar Ali, hailed from Kaburhat area of the upazila, also a student of class II of a local school.

Local and police sources said while she was returning from the school, a Kushtia-bound passenger bus knocked Akhi in Kaburhat Kadamtala area around 10:00am, leaving her dead on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Kushtia Model Thana Abdul Khaleque confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Police seized the bus and victim’s family demanded compensation, he added.
