DHAKA: Mohammed Salim, FCMA has been elected as President of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) for the year 2014.
The decision was taken in the 1st meeting of the 15th Council of ICMAB held on 30 January, says a press release.
The council also elected A.S.M. Shaykhul Islam, FCMA and Arif Khan, FCMA as Vice-Presidents, Jamal Ahmed Choudhury, FCMA as Secretary and M Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA as Treasurer of the Institute for the same term.
Prior to his new role, Mohammed Salim, FCMA served as Treasurer, Secretary and Vice-President of ICMAB. Salim is currently working as the General Manager (Finance) of Power Grid Company of Bangladesh (PGCB) Ltd. the sole electricity transmission company of the country.
A.S.M. Shaykhul Islam, FCMA Chairman, FATCOM Bangladesh Ltd was the former Secretary and Vice-President of ICMAB while Arif Khan, FCMA is currently the Commissioner, Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission. Arif previously served ICMAB as Treasurer and Secretary in different terms.
Jamal Ahmed Choudhury, FCMA elected as Secretary in the current council was the past Chairman of Dhaka Branch Council of ICMAB. He is Executive Director, Accounts & Finance, Beximco Pharmaceuticals Ltd- the leading manufacturer and exporter medicines of the country.
Abdur Rahman Khan, FCMA Treasurer of the current Council is working as First Secretary (Tax Policy) of National Board of Revenue. Previously, he served ICMAB as Vice-Chairman of Dhaka Branch Council.
