Police arms stolen from polling center

MAGURA: Three policemen were suspended as one police firearm had been stolen from a voting center at Panchopalli high school of Shotokhali Union under Shalikha Upazila of the district on Thursday morning.

Sources said that a Sub Machine Gun (SMG) was missing from the voting center and the matter took the attention to the police at around 6:00am.

Following the stealing incident, three policemen have been suspended instantly.

Magura Police Super Zihadul Kabir visited the spot and confirmed the matter to banglanews.

Upazila Returning Officer AKM Tarek, also Magura Additional Deputy Commissioner told banglanews, “The voting will continue. No negative impact will be seen following the incident.”
