CHITTAGONG: A person was killed and five others were injured in a road accident on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway at Patiya upazilla of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Fakhrul Islam, Sub-Inspector of Patiya Highway Police Outpost, told banglanews that a Chittagong-bound microbus knocked a roadside tree as its driver lost control over the steering, leaving the driver dead on the spot and five others injured.

Local people rushed the injured to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, he added.
