Bangladesh progresses for GSP

DHAKA: US Ambassador to Dhaka Dan W Mozena said that Bangladesh has progressed by fulfilling the terms of Generalized System of Privilege (GSP) in readymade garments sector.

The sector in Bangladesh can boost exports of garments to the USA and EU countries with low cost apparel.

The US envoy was addressing a meeting at Commerce Ministry on Wednesday noon.

Mozena further said that Bangladesh has already fulfilled several terms and conditions of GSP where some others need to be filled.

“I hope we will work together for the development of RMG sector in Bangladesh,” he added.

Moreover, the ambassador of European Union to Bangladesh William Hanna, Canada`s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Heather Cruden, Dutch ambassador Gerben De Jong, Spain’s envoy Luis Tejada and International Labour Organization (ILO) country director Srinivas Baki Reddy were also present at the meeting.
