DHAKA: The Election Commission has postponed polls to Thakugaon Sadar upazila for three months over legal complications.

Assistant secretary of the EC Ashfakur Rahman made the disclosure to media.

He said the voting to the upazila has been postponed as some complexities created on vote center following a verdict of the High Court following a writ petition. As per the HC directives, the EC halted the polls for three month to avoid the difficulty.

In fifth phase, the election was scheduled to be held on March 31.
