DHAKA: At least 10 people sustained injuries as miscreants blasted cocktails targeting Awami League processions in Shahtinagar, Karwan bazaar and Banani areas in the capital.

Witnesses said miscreants hurled cocktails at a procession of Awami League heading towards the Suhrawardy Udyan, the rally venue to mark historic March 7, in Shantinagar area at noon, leaving five activists injured.

Another procession of the ruling party was also attacked with cocktail explosion by miscreants in front of Shikkha Bhaban that left four activists injured.

Processionists caught an attacker and handed over him to police after giving a good beating.

Besides, a rickshaw puller received injuries in a cocktail blast near Karwan bazaar underpass.

Moreover, police detained two people at Banani road no. 18 while fleeing the spot after blasting cocktails.
