GAIBANDHA: Police arrested 19 people including six leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Chhatra Shibir conducting overnight special drive in Gaibandha district.

The drive was conducted from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Gaibandha additional police super Faruk Hossain said that the arrestees were accused in several cases including of creating violence.

Moreover, Palashbari thana officer-in-charge (OC) Mojibur Rahman told banglanews that the arrestees included Qaium, a union unit former ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and also upazila unit Shramik Kalyan Federation president.
