CHAPAINAWABGANJ: Police detained four activists of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatra Shibir while holding a clandestine meeting at a madrasa under Shibganj upazila of the district early Saturday (February 11).

Shibganj police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ramzan Ali told Banglanews that acting on a tip-off they detained the four.

Police also seized about 1-Kg gunpowder, five cocktails and 10 bicycles from the possession of the detainees, he added.

A case was filed with the thana on Saturday morning, he added.
