DHAKA: Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Sunday (May 7) announced a new alliance comprised of 58 political parties, under the leadership of the party.

Jatiya Party, Bangladesh Islamic Front, Jatiya Islami Mohajote and Bangladesh National Alliance (BNA) are frontrunner in the newly formed alliance named ‘Sommilito Jatiya Jote’

Of the party sections, Jatiya Islami Mohajote includes 35 political parties whereas BNA includes 21.

JP Chief Ershad, also the chairman of the alliance, said that ‘Sommilito Jatiya Jote’ will decide whether we will stay with the ruling party-led 14-party alliance in future.
