DHAKA: Hailing the government efforts to rescue noted columnist, poet and political commentator Farhad Mazhar, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh congratulated the government in a message on Thursday (July 6).
Hefazat conveyed thanks to the government, law enforcers including police, and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in an emailed statement.
“The contribution the Prime Minister has made to save the life of Farhad Mazhar is certainly praiseworthy and it has reflected the expectation of the peoples”, said the statement.
However, Hefazat urged the government to obstruct all types of interference and illegal indulgence from a neighboring ‘friend country’ of Bangladesh into its home affairs.
Hefazat Senior Nayeb-e-Amir Muhibbullaha Babunagari, Joint Secretary General Likman Hakim, Maulana Mufti Faizullah and Muinuddin Ruhi were among others made the statement.
However, earlier, law enforcers rescued Farhad Mazhar from Jessore, 18 hours after he went missing after going outside for buying medicine on early Monday (July 3), from his residence in Dhaka.
