Bangladesh suffered a seven-wicket defeat to the West Indies in the second ODI in St. Kitts on Tuesday, marking the hosts' first ODI series win against the Tigers since 2014.

Sherfane Rutherford sealed the victory with a six off Shoriful Islam, ensuring a dominant series win for the Windies.

Chasing a target of 228, the West Indies made a strong start, with openers Brandon King and Evin Lewis putting on 109 for the first wicket. Lewis, who struck four sixes in his 46-run knock, was dismissed when Rishad Hossain caught and bowled him. Despite his departure, the Windies maintained control, with King continuing to play a solid innings. He was eventually dismissed for 82 off 76 balls by Nahid Rana. Keacy Carty contributed a steady 45 before Afif Hossain dismissed him.

Shai Hope and Rutherford took the Windies comfortably across the finish line with 79 balls to spare.

Earlier, Bangladesh’s innings stumbled to 115 for 7 in just 25 overs, despite a quick-fire 46 from opener Tanzid Tamim, who faced 33 balls. Tanzid's promising knock ended when he was caught at backward point off Justin Greaves, leaving Bangladesh at 64 for 4 after early breakthroughs by Jayden Seales.

Bangladesh found some hope through a record eighth-wicket partnership between Mahmudullah and Tanzim Hasan. The pair added 92 runs, with Mahmudullah anchoring the innings and scoring 62 off 92 balls, including two fours and four sixes. Tanzim, playing a crucial role, made a career-best 45.

Bangladesh were eventually bowled out for 227.

Jayden Seales was the standout bowler for the Windies, claiming 4 wickets for 22 runs. He dismantled Bangladesh’s top order, dismissing Soumya Sarkar, Liton Kumer Das, and Mehedi early on before returning to remove Mahmudullah at a crucial stage.
