The ICC Champions Trophy was showcased at the Bashundhara City Shopping Complex in Panthapath, Dhaka, today (Dec 12), giving city residents a chance to view the prestigious trophy.

The display opened at 11:00 am, attracting cricket fans eager to catch a glimpse of the trophy, which will remain on display until 8:00 pm.

Returning to the international cricket calendar after a hiatus since 2017, the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy will feature eight teams, including Bangladesh, in its upcoming edition.

Although Pakistan was initially announced as the host, discussions between Indian and Pakistani cricket officials and the ICC are ongoing to finalize the venue and format of the tournament.

As is tradition, the trophy is touring ICC member nations ahead of the tournament scheduled for February next year. Following stops in Pakistan and Afghanistan, the trophy has arrived in Bangladesh.

After its public display at Bashundhara City, the trophy will be showcased tomorrow at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium for members of the national men’s and women’s cricket teams, as well as for current and former cricketers, officials, organizers, and media representatives.

Earlier, the trophy was exhibited at Laboni Point Beach in Cox’s Bazar on Wednesday, following its inauguration by Youth and Sports Adviser Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain on Tuesday at Shimanto Sommelon Kendra Urmee.
