CHITTAGONG: Bangladeshi off-spinner Nayeem Hasan made a world record against the West Indies during their first Test match as the youngest cricketer in the history of Tests to take five-wicket hauls on debut.
Nayeem broke the record of Australia’s Pat Cummins who took five wickets on debut against South Africa in 2011 at the age of 18 years and 193 days.
Bangladesh bundled West Indies out for 246 in their first innings at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium Friday.
However, Bangladesh threw the advantage given by the Nayeem and his fellow spinners by being collapsed in the second innings of their batting.
The Tigers reached 55-5 at stumps on the second day to stretch their sizable 78-run first innings lead the game by only 133 runs.
