DHAKA: Chittagong Vikings won the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) opener against the defending champions Rangpur Riders by three wickets at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
They scored 101 runs for seven with five balls remaining in response to reach the Rangpur Riders’ set 99-run target on Saturday (January 5).
Earlier Chittagong Vikings won the toss and send Rangpur Riders to bat first.
Ravi Bopara’s highest 44 runs off 47 balls helped the team of Mashrafe Bin Mortaza score 98 runs for all wickets in their stipulated 20 overs at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) in city’s Mirpur.
Robert Frylinck of Vikings took was adjudged Player of the match for bagging four wickets. Abu Jayed and Nayeem Hasan picked up two wickets each.
