DHAKA: Tigers’ Test team skipper Shakib Al Hasan was ruled out of Bangladesh’s upcoming tour to New Zealand, due to injury on a finger.
He was diagnosed with a fracture on a left hand finger after the final match of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Friday (Feb 8).
Now, he will have to stay outside field for a month, for recovery.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Physician Debashish Chowdhury confirmed the matter.
It will require at least three weeks to recover the injury, he said.
BPL franchise Dhaka Dynamites captain Shakib Al Hasan sustained the injury while facing a bowl of Comilla Victorian’s Thisara Perera, in 11th over.
However, the series of 3 ODIs and 3 Tests will start in New Zealand on Feb 13.
