DHAKA: Bangladesh have set a 331-run target for South Africa in fifth match of ICC World Cup 2019 against South Africa at the Kennington Oval in London on Sunday (June 2).

Shakib Al Hasan’s 75 off 84 balls and Mshfiqur Rahim †’s 78 off 80 balls helped tigers get 330 runs, the highest score in their world cup history, by losing six wickets in their stipulated 50 overs.

Besides, Mahmudullah contributed 46 not out off 33 balls and Soumya Sarkar 42 off 30 balls.

For South Africa, AL Phehlukwayo, CH Morris and Imran Tahir bagged two wickets each.       

Earlier in the day, South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has won the toss and elected to bowl against Bangladesh.

South Africa spinner Imran Tahir is playing in his 100th ODI as he takes field in his team’s second match of World Cup 2019.

After winning the toss, Faf du Plessis said, "We're playing the extra seamer today so we want to try and attack Bangladesh with some extra pace. We want to take the learnings from the previous game."

It is the World Cup 2019 opener for Bangladesh.

Mashrafe Mortaza said, "I'm fine. We are pretty confident. We've had a good preparation."

The Proteas were condemned to a 104-run defeat largely due to England’s ability to use the conditions better and the combined brilliance of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes.
