The finance minister on Thursday (June 1) proposed an increase in allocation for the ICT Division by Tk 452 crore to Tk 2,368 crore in the budget for 2023-24 fiscal year.

According to him, the 23.59 per cent rise in allocation in the ministry comes as the government has set out a plan to make Bangladesh a smart nation by 2041.

In the outgoing financial year, the revised budget later stood at Tk 1,842 crore last year.
