DHAKA: Multi Securities Limited has applied to Securities and Exchange Commission for permission to raise the company’s paid-up capital for more investment by the share traders on the stock-market.

Abdul Awal, Managing Director of Multi Securities, placed the plea with the SEC chairman on September 8, a competent source said.

Presently, Multi has a total of Tk 10 crore 12 lakh 50 thousand as paid-up capital floated on the capital market. They want to increase the amount to Tk 33 crore 75 lakh through the new move.

If allowed, the Multi Securities firm would provide 226 percent bonus shares to its shareholders, the company has declared.

“It means, each shareholder will get 226 bonus shares against 100 shares,” Abdul Awal told banglanews.

“We have applied for increasing the paid-up capital with a view to increasing our own equity,” said Awal.

Asked about the possibility of enlistment of the company with capital market, the company chief said, “We are yet to think over it.”
