In a move that reflects Bangladesh's escalating progress across a wide range of socioeconomic indicators, Bashundhara Group, the country’s largest business conglomerate, is unveiling an impressive new educational venture.

A testament to both architectural grandeur and educational innovation, the Bashundhara Public School and College, conceived by Bashundhara Group Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, represents the fulfilment of a longstanding local demand.

The ambitious project commenced in 2020, with the primary seven-storey building slated for completion by the end of this year.

Designed by renowned architect Mohammad Foyez Ullah, the campus is being built on 10 bighas of land and will feature an extensive range of state-of-the-art facilities. Included in the plans are 65 spacious classrooms, each 1,000 square feet in size, along with specialized classrooms, a conference room, common rooms, a modern lab, exhibition hall, and a 4,500 square foot library equipped with the latest technologies.

An expansive 4,500 square foot cafeteria and 12 dedicated rooms for teachers further add to the appeal of this groundbreaking educational venture.

True to Bashundhara Group's commitment to holistic development, the institution will also feature a large playground spread over four bighas of land – a rarity in the urban expanse of the city.

With the capacity to cater to more than 5,000 students and equipped with transport facilities and ample parking space, the campus is designed to provide an all-encompassing educational experience.Brig Gen Kazi Showkat Alam ndc, psc (retd), the former principal of Rajuk Model College, has lent his expertise to this noble project. He echoes the excitement surrounding the venture: "Bashundhara Group has taken a noble initiative to establish a world-class educational institution. The people of Bashundhara residential and adjoining areas have a longstanding demand for such an educational institution. It will be a Bengali medium and English version school and college.”

Starting from class one to eight in the first phase, the institution aims to subsequently extend its educational offering to cover up to class twelve. A separate section for female students is planned, adhering to the co-education ethos.

Set to commence operations from the upcoming academic year, Bashundhara School and College offers more than just academic excellence. Recognizing the vital role of extracurricular activities in students' holistic development, the campus is located beside the Bashundhara Sports Complex, a world-class sports facility. This strategic positioning will allow students access to a plethora of sports and fitness amenities, furthering the Group's commitment to fostering a balanced education.

Bashundhara Group is going to enter the education sector by establishing Bashundhara Public School and College. The academy will cover 270,000 square feet with building infrastructure. There is no problem for students to attend assembly amid rains as the ground floor has such facility. The new school will have plenty of faculties to ensure quality education. A wide playground is adjacent with the campus which is rare for many schools in the capital.

The students of the school will also have on-demand access to other fields, gymnasium and swimming pool of the Sports Complex (inside Bashundhara residential area). I hope the academy will emerge as an educational institution of international standards.

Bashundhara is an attractive residential area. There are planned infrastructures including sports complex, recreation centre and other facilities of modern township in the mega plan. A new school becomes part of the mega plan with aesthetic architecture. We have focused on co-relation of students with environment during sketching the architecture of the school. The vertical levels of the North-South facing building are built with care as the students can communicate with Green easily. There are three-dimensional spiral stairs on the entrance of the school where anyone can experience broadness of open sky. The students will get clean weather with open field, wide balcony and corridors inside the campus. Such facilities have positive impacts for developing broadness in the minds of learners. Theoretically, we know that an academy is developed with a collective effort of teachers, students and infrastructure as inseparable parts. The infrastructure has significant contribution to early development of students who pass important times on the campus. Every corners of the school, including classroom, sanitation, broad environment and architecture, have impact for positive mindset. The environment of the school contributes to psychosocial development of a student. The students of the school of Bashundhara will get chance to develop their minds with nature, sports, recreation and facilities for modern housing.
