DHAKA: A 27-member team from the National Defence College of Bangladesh visited the Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters in Colombo on September 24.

According to Navy Head Quarters, the team was headed by Brigadier General M Latiful Haider and comprised of officers from Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Nigeria and China.

The head of the team called on Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Jayanath Colombage and held cordial discussions on matters of mutual interests. Mementos were also exchanged as a gesture of goodwill to mark the occasion.

The Commander of the Navy who addressed the visiting NDC members, explained the role and structure of the Sri Lanka Navy with a special emphasis on asymmetric warfare strategies which enabled SLN to defeat a most ruthless form of terrorism.
