Veteran music director freedom fighter and music director composer Anwar Jahan Nantu is no more. He was 78 years old at the time of his death.

The artist passed away early in the morning of Sunday (Feb 6), around 3 am, while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.

The artiste's son, renowned playwright and director, Sagar Jahan confirmed the matter.

Anwar Jahan Nantu gifted the music industry with numerous timeless hits, including "Premer Somadhi Bhenge", "Chokher Jole Ami", and "Tumi Dub Diona", amongst others.
