At least 8 more dengue patients died while 1,429 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 16), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 302 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 1,127 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,528 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2, 98,094 were infected by the Dengue virus this year in Dhaka and outside the capital.

As many as 2, 91,008 Dengue patients recovered this year in Dhaka and outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,457 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 4,101 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
