At least 4 more dengue patients died while 914 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 18), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 204 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 710 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,543 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 2,99,964 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,05,288 were in Dhaka and 1,96,676 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 2,93,235 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1, 03,082 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1, 90,153 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,307 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 3,879 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
