At least three more dengue patients died while 971 others were hospitalised in 24 hours till 8 am today (November 26), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the 24 hours, 217 dengue patients were admitted in Dhaka while 754 dengue patients were admitted outside the capital, said the DGHS release.

Besides, this year a total of 1,598 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh till today.

A total of 3,08,167 were infected by the Dengue virus this year. Of them, 1,07,079 were in Dhaka and 2,01,088 were outside of the capital, according to the DGHS press release.

As many as 3,02,974 Dengue patients recovered this year. Of them, 1,05,136 were released from hospitals in Dhaka while 1,97,838 others left hospitals outside the capital.

According to DGHS, 1,017 patients are now undergoing treatment in different hospitals in Dhaka while 2,578 patients are being treated in hospitals outside Dhaka.

Last year, a total of 281 died from the mosquito-borne viral disease in Bangladesh. However, 28,429 patients were admitted to different hospitals with dengue while 28,265 patients recovered last year.
