A dengue patient has died, and 45 new cases have been reported in hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, says the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

In the past 24 hours, four patients were hospitalized in Chattogram, one in Barishal, nine in Dhaka division, nine in Dhaka North City, fifteen in Dhaka South City, one in Mymensingh, one in Khulna, and five in Rajshahi, according to a press release from DGHS.

The total number of case rose to 573 while four deaths from dengue disease were reported this year.

Last year, the total number of cases rose to 1,01,214 while 575 deaths from dengue disease were reported, the statement added.
